As of July 2026, Baycom and BayTech appear as one: Baycom's IT services have been fully integrated into BayTech GmbH – a single presence, one point of contact, two equal fields of expertise. With this step, we are significantly expanding our IT business.

Why this step?

From the beginning, the same people stood behind Baycom and BayTech – with two specialities: web development, databases and IT operations on one side, overhead line engineering for trams and trolleybuses on the other. Two separate brands obscured that rather than clarifying it.

On top of that, more and more enquiries touch both worlds at once. Whoever wants a website usually also needs hosting, support and security. Whoever plans infrastructure wants to capture and analyse data digitally. A joint presence makes it visible that there is one partner for all of it.

What the stronger IT focus means in concrete terms

Our IT offering is now clearly structured and considerably broader:

Our current projects show that these are not empty categories: the Shopify store inoxy.ch with an automated data flow from the central database – and our resource planning tool, which computes duty rosters with a constraint solver: provably optimal, in under 30 seconds instead of two days of manual work.

Overhead line engineering remains what it is: our second pillar

The stronger IT focus does not come at the expense of engineering. Overhead line planning for trams and trolleybuses, digitalisation & BIM, asset management and consulting remain an equal part of our offering. The combination is precisely our strength: we understand infrastructure – and we know how to digitalise it.

What changes for existing clients?

In day-to-day business: nothing. Contacts, availability and ongoing projects remain unchanged. What is new is the joint presence at baytech.ch with a clear structure for both fields of expertise – and a team ready for IT projects of any size: from a website relaunch to an online store to custom planning software.

We look forward to the next chapter – and to projects that connect both worlds.
