Shopify project
inoxy.ch.
A multilingual Shopify store with a custom theme, a central product database and a real-time connection to the stores' POS system.
A large assortment, scattered data
Goozy AG sells pocket knives, kitchen cutlery, travel gear, watches, souvenirs and gifts in its Lucerne boutiques – until now exclusively in person: there was no online store. There was no central product database either; the only data available were Excel lists and the supplier's media library. For the step into e-commerce, thousands of articles had to be built up with complete descriptions, specifications and images – in three languages.
Doing this manually would hardly have been feasible: each product comes with dozens of data fields, from blade material to weight, dimensions, warranty and country of origin. So we built both in parallel: a FileMaker product database as the new leading system, in which the continuously growing assortment is maintained centrally, and the Shopify store inoxy.ch with a custom theme – connected by a data pipeline that largely automates the maintenance.
inoxy.ch – Shopify store with automated data management
For Goozy AG we built inoxy.ch: a multilingual Shopify store for pocket knives, kitchen cutlery, watches and travel gear – with a custom theme and a central product database that keeps the store up to date largely automatically.
Custom theme
A bespoke Shopify theme with mega menu, filters, wishlist and cart drawer – designed for a premium assortment instead of an off-the-shelf look.
Central product database
A purpose-built FileMaker database as the leading system: products, prices, specifications and images are maintained centrally and synchronised with Shopify automatically.
AI-assisted copy
Product descriptions and feature lists are created and unified with AI assistance – consistent in tone and in three languages.
Assortment clean-up
Assortment definition and clean-up: duplicates, discontinued articles and incomplete data were identified and corrected systematically.
Technical specifications
Technical specifications are taken over from manufacturer data automatically and attached to the products.
Multilingual DE / EN / FR
Fully translated store including navigation, product copy and legal pages – translated automatically, reviewed editorially.
Store and online shop connected in real time
In a second stage we connected inoxy.ch to the stores' POS system – a fully autonomous, bidirectional real-time synchronisation: serverless in the cloud, with no additional server infrastructure and no dependency on local machines. Every till transaction in the store and every order in the online shop keep stock levels up to date on both sides automatically – the previous manual stock export is gone entirely.
Store → online shop
Every till transaction – sale, return or stock correction – updates the shop stock within seconds, calculated as the total across all stores.
Online shop → store
Every paid online order is recorded automatically in the POS system as a revenue-neutral stock booking – with intelligent store selection and the order number as reference. No duplicate revenue, full traceability.
Picking control
Tags and notes directly on the order show the store team which store each item is taken from – and whether goods need to be transferred between stores or reordered from the supplier.
Smart notifications
Only when action is needed – a transfer, a reorder or an engraving job – does the store team automatically receive an e-mail, including a direct link to the order. Routine orders deliberately trigger no e-mail.
Engraving jobs
Personalisations are extracted from the order and prepared as clear work instructions – with engraving text and font directly in the note and e-mail.
Serverless & secure
The integration runs serverless in the cloud around the clock – with signed webhooks and idempotent processing that reliably prevents duplicate bookings – without any servers of our own.
Clear process, one point of contact
From concept to optimised operation:
Setup & strategy
Store structure, payment and shipping logic and assortment defined together.
Theme & design
A custom theme, aligned with the brand and customer journey.
Data & integration
Product data, interfaces and automations set up.
Launch & optimisation
Go-live, monitoring and ongoing conversion optimisation.
From raw data to finished product
A chain of automations keeps the assortment up to date – every step is script-driven and reproducible:
Leading system
The FileMaker database built during the project is the central source for articles, prices, status and stock – synchronised with Shopify via an interface.
Enrichment
Technical specifications are taken over automatically from the supplier's Excel lists and media library – more than 30 specification fields per product.
AI refinement
Descriptions are written and unified with AI assistance and translated into English and French – consistent with the brand tone.
Linking
Variant images and matching accessories (pouches, chains, spare parts) are attached to the products automatically.
The project in numbers
Thousands of products, hardly any manual work.
With large assortments, the real effort is not the store – it is the data. At inoxy.ch, master data, specifications, images and translations flow from the central database into the store automatically: new products go live in minutes instead of hours, and changes stay consistent everywhere.
- Leading system: one central database instead of maintenance in several places
- Automatic synchronisation of products, prices and stock
- POS and online shop synchronised bidirectionally in real time
- Specifications and images enriched from manufacturer sources
- AI copy in three languages, consistent with the brand tone
