On 1 May 2026 we founded BayTech GmbH. A date that was no accident: Labour Day – and the first day of our own work.

This is not a standard company profile. We want to explain why we took this step, what moves us – and what our clients can expect from us.

The Background: Specialist Knowledge That Is Rare

Overhead line engineering for trolleybuses and trams is not a subject taught broadly at universities of applied sciences. It is a craft learned through years of practice on real projects – through standards internalised, through mistakes made once and never forgotten, and through demanding clients.

Today this knowledge lives mainly inside large engineering firms. The competence is there – but embedded in cumbersome structures, high overhead costs and project teams where the specialist is often not directly at the table.

We asked ourselves: what if the specialist ran the firm themselves?

The Idea: Small, Direct, Competent

BayTech GmbH is a deliberately small company. Two people, a clear focus, short decision paths. Anyone who commissions us works directly with the specialist engineer – not with a junior passing tasks along, and not with a project manager who knows the technical content at second hand.

That is not a limitation. That is our model.

In a specialist field like overhead line planning, trust is decisive. Trust comes from consistency – and consistency comes from the same person always talking with you, knowing your installation and understanding your requirements.

Our Roots: Canton of Lucerne, Eyes on All of Switzerland

We are at home in the canton of Lucerne. Central Switzerland is not just where we live – it is a region we know well professionally.

At the same time, our projects and clients are not limited to one region. Overhead line engineering for trolleybuses and trams is a Swiss topic – from Basel through Bern and Zurich to Geneva. We are wherever our clients are.

What Sets Us Apart Technically

Our range of services is focused:

What distinguishes us from many others: we master both worlds – classical overhead line engineering and modern digital planning methods. This combination is rare in the industry.

What Drives Us as People

We build infrastructure used daily by thousands of people – quietly, invisibly, but indispensably. The overhead line above a trolleybus is not a glamorous engineering achievement. It is reliable work that must function – in summer and winter, in snow and heat, during the morning rush and late at night.

That is exactly what drives us: work that lasts.

A Beginning – With a Clear View Ahead

With our founding, a new chapter begins. We know that building takes time – and we are ready to invest that time. Our goal for the first two years is not maximum growth, but quality: projects we deliver with conviction, clients who recommend us, and a foundation on which we can build sustainably.

If you have a project in the field of overhead line engineering or digital engineering solutions and are looking for a direct point of contact – we look forward to hearing from you.
